Utah's current kratom provisions took effect May 6, 2026. Utah Code Section 4-45-102 defines pure leaf kratom in part by requiring that 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) not exceed 0.4% of the product's total kratom alkaloid composition. To support ratio-based reporting, Cora Science offers Part Number 801: 7-Hydroxymitragynine Relative Alkaloid Ratio.
Part 801 is ordered alongside our Mitragyna alkaloid profiles and adds a calculated ratio that contextualizes 7-OH within the broader alkaloid profile. The ratio is included directly on the COA for clear, consistent reporting.
What the ratio represents
Utah evaluates 7-OH as a fraction of total kratom alkaloid composition.
7-OH % of total alkaloids = (mass of 7-OH) / (mass of all kratom alkaloids) x 100
This is different from a simple "% w/w of the whole product" limit. If you want to translate the ratio into % w/w, you must know the product's total kratom alkaloids % w/w and multiply: 7-OH % w/w = total alkaloids % w/w x ratio.
- Example: if total alkaloids are 10% w/w and the ratio limit is 0.4% of total alkaloids, that corresponds to 0.04% w/w 7-OH.
- Example: if total alkaloids are 2% w/w, the same ratio limit corresponds to 0.008% w/w 7-OH.
Utah Code Section 4-45-104 separately requires a non-pure-leaf kratom product label to state the amount of mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine in the packaged product. Part 801 supports ratio reporting; it does not by itself determine every labeling or legal obligation applicable to a product.
If you sell or ship into Utah, ask your account manager to enable Part 801 on upcoming submissions or request a quote with Utah selected as the target jurisdiction.
